Self-care Journey: Botox & Fillers

My goal this year for 2021 is to continue with my self-care journey. After reflecting and being home for a full year, I wanted to do something for myself that I had been thinking about for years – botox and filler.

I’ve always been extremely self conscious of my side profile and chubby cheeks, so I did some research to see what options were available, but wasn’t able to find too much information. When I had my consultation with Dr. Judge, she did a deep dive to understand my concerns and was able to pinpoint what procedures would be right for me. She recommended that I get botox to the masseters to help with my clenching/grinding, botox to my crows feet to help with the fine lines, and filler to my chin. If you weren’t aware, botox is an injectable that helps relax the muscle – injecting it in my masseters will help stop my grinding and slim down my cheeks. As for filler, there are two types, a thicker consistency one that helps build out features and a thinner one that is used mainly for the lips. The filler that we used was Juvederm, which is thicker in consistency. With Juvederm, she was able to help build my chin and jawline. My lower jaw sits further back so we needed to use more filler to build it up and fill in my side profile. I’ve previously looked into jaw surgery for my face shape, so this is a great way to get a similar result without going under the knife.

I was extremely nervous but excited for the procedure. It was my first time getting any injectables and I love how Dr. Judge really emphasizes on enhancing your natural beauty as opposed to reshaping you completely. There are so many misconceptions regarding botox, but after having such a positive, easy experience, with such great results, I can easily say that I’ll be back to see her again!

When I arrived, I was instantly greeted by their friendly staff. I was happy to see that they take COVID protocol seriously, as everything was sterile and social distancing & masks were in place. The facility itself is spacious and luxurious! Within minutes, I was taken to the room where I’d get my procedure. Pro tip – if you’re going in to get injectables, I’d recommend coming with a clean and bare face. I wasn’t aware and had to wash off all my makeup inside! Dr. Judge is extremely friendly, and gave an in-depth explanation to the procedure and what to expect. She also helped answer any questions I had and definitely eased my nerves.

The whole procedure only took 1 hour. It was super quick and the pain was minimal! We first injected the botox, I’d say it was around 15 minutes or so. When I was getting the botox, she had me sit upright and cleaned the area. She asked me to clench my teeth to find the right placement, and within seconds she was done. The needle is so thin that it feels like a light pinch. Next, we moved to the crows feet, I would say that hurt a little bit more just because the area around the eyes are a lot more sensitive. Finally, it was time for the filler – she had me lay down on my back and assessed my face. There was more of an initial sting than with the botox, but it instantly went numb a few seconds later. The filler is thicker in consistency and she had to add a lot to help build out my chin. For reference, we used 6 syringes to help build out my chin and jawline!

Overall, this was a really positive experience and I’m glad that I worked up the confidence to do it. It was way quicker and easier than I thought it would be, and there was very little pain. Dr. Judge is compassionate, helpful, and knowledgeable, and took every step necessary to make sure that I felt comfortable in her chair.

I was told that, after getting filler, you want to make sure you sleep only on your back for 48 hours so you don’t move the product around. The first few days were pretty rough, my chin and jaw were swollen so it was hard to eat, and I felt a throbbing pain (definitely the most painful part of the process!). I made sure to ice the area and take Tylenol for the pain. It also felt really tight and uncomfortable, but trust me it will go away! I’m not going to lie, I was pretty freaked out. It was my first time and I had no idea what to expect, my friend sent me constant reminds that this was only temporary and it will look a lot better, and she was right!. It has been 1 week since my procedure and I can honestly say I’m so happy with the results!

CoolSculpting Experience

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to partner with Ariba Med Spa located in Fremont, CA. I am so excited to share my CoolSculpting experience with all of you!

I have heard a lot of positive feedback from people who have gotten this procedure and I’ve been really interested in trying it for myself. I did a lot of research beforehand to make sure I understood the process & any risk that may be involved. For those of you unaware of what CoolSculpting is, it is a non-invasive procedure used to eliminate unwanted fat in targeted areas like the abdomen, love handles, thighs and chin, etc.

I was both nervous and excited for the procedure because it’s a way to freeze away fat cells, ensuring they won’t return! It’s extremely targeted, so if you have ‘problem areas,’ you can address them directly. The area I decided to get done was my inner thighs. I have always been self conscious of my legs, and I’m honestly really excited to see the results. Keep in mind that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure, it is to help tone the area and prevent fat cells from coming back, and you generally see the results a few weeks to months after.

When I arrived, I was instantly greeted by their friendly staff and taken to their CoolSculpting room where I showed the esthetician the problem area I wanted to work on. Lilliana, the esthetician who was doing my procedure was amazing! She answered all my questions and concerns and walked me through the entire process. It was also reassuring to hear about her own successful experiences with sculpting.

The procedure is essentially as follows: The technician works with you to understand which area you’d like to be CoolSculpted. They are precise with measurements, drawing lines to map out exactly what to work on. This consultation also determines the price & length of the procedure, as well as which cooling paddle they’ll use. After that, the technician preps the area with a sterilizing wipe, a cream, a gel, and a thin protective sheet before placing the paddle (which is a strong suction) on the area. They then turn on the freezing function, which runs for half an hour. After this, the technician inspects the area before applying another cream and massaging it, which helps breaks down the fat cells. You then stand on a machine (pictured below) that vibrates your body for about 10 minutes, which further breaks down the cells.

The whole procedure took about 2 hours. I think the measurement/mapping took the longest because we wanted to be very precise in eliminating what needs to be eliminated. Everything after went by extremely fast. The freezing portion only takes 35 minutes, and after it was removed, she massaged the area for around 30 minutes. When you first apply the paddle (at sub zero temperature), there’s a slight discomfort, but that goes away after 5 minutes. I really only felt a light stinging sensation after the paddle was removed. I heard a lot of people say the pain came from the massaging, but I felt little to no irritation.

As someone who has been considering CoolSculpting for quite some time, I can genuinely attest to the fact that it isn’t so bad! It’s a great way to freeze away fat cells, and Ariba made the experience smooth & comforting. Safe to say I’ll be back again to work on my other problem areas! Major thanks again to Ariba Med Spa for partnering with me.

Current Skincare Favorites

Hi everyone! Sorry I have not been as active on my blog as I would like to be. I recently started a full-time job and have been a little preoccupied. It’s honestly been a real struggle trying to juggle so many things, but I’ll save that topic for another post 🙂

I can’t believe it’s almost the end of February, I feel like time is flying by! I love watching monthly favorite videos, so I thought why not write a blog post about my favorite skincare products for the last couple of months!

(Products Left to Right):
The Pixi Beauty – Glow Tonic has been one of my favorite toners for the past few years. I use this right after I wash my face with a cotton pad and it helps get rid of any leftover makeup/residue, ensuring that my skin is clean before I use any other products. I use this morning and night.

Sekkisei – Herbal Gel is a newer product in my skincare routine but it is absolutely amazing. It’s super lightweight and blends really nicely into the skin. You feel instantly moisturized and the scent is very light and not overpowering. I use this mostly at night because it provides that deep hydration throughout the night. Not to mention it has a spatula included so you don’t have to worry about getting product underneath your nails!

Glossier – Priming Moisturizer is my go to and quickly became a favorite! I love this product because it doubles as a moisturizer and primer. I use this product in the morning and I can apply my makeup without having to use another primer. The cream is really lightweight, has little to no scent, and blends into the skin very easily.

Tatcha – The Essence Plumping Skin Softener is amazing! I’ve tried SK II’s essence and Tatcha’s equivalent is just as good! It’s not quite as expensive but I’d still consider it a little pricy. This product leaves your face feeling hydrated and plump. After my toner, I use my hands to pat this into my face and it absorbs very easily. I use this product AM and PM and I’ve noticed my skin has looked very supple.

Tatcha – Vitamin C Brightening Serum is another great product that I only recently discovered, but it’s a product that I feel like actually works. I’ve used some other vitamin c serums and they didn’t seem to be as effective as this one. I use it right after my essence & before my moisturizer. I absolutely adore the packaging, it’s colorful, but it still feels sleek and luxurious. Try this product out if you’ve been looking to try a vitamin c serum! Thank you Influenster for sending me both Tatcha products complimentary to test out!

Lastly, the Glossier – Invisible Shield has got to be my all time favorite SPF! It is ultra lightweight and instantly absorbs into your skin without leaving a sticky residue or white cast. It has a light citrus scent and I’m so happy I found this sunblock! It is a little pricier, but it’s honestly worth it!

These have been some of my favorite skincare products that I have been using consistently. Let me know which products you’ve been loving recently, and if there’s any must-have products I need to try! So glad to be back, and I’m going to try to make a new blog post at least twice a month if not more. Thanks for reading!

Favorite 100% Pure Products

Lately I have been trying to take more of a healthier approach when it comes to what makeup products I use. I wear makeup every day and sometimes the ingredients in some beloved products aren’t the healthiest. You may have heard of 100% Pure, this brand was created locally in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2005. They have grown tremendously with over 200+ employees and 12 retail stores throughout the US.

In recent years, we have become more health conscious with the type of produce we purchase. Making sure we are eating organic products because it is a healthier option. Just like the food we are consuming, I think it’s also important to know what ingredients make up our favorite foundation, concealer, etc. As an avid makeup enthusiast, I am wearing makeup every single day, and I think it’s important to understand what goes into the products. I have been transitioning to cruelty-free and more natural products, and 100% Pure is a great place to start. I’m not telling you to throw away all your old makeup, but I urge you to try different brands and products when you are in need of replenishment.

I will be sharing some products that I have recently purchased from 100% Pure! These have quickly grown to be some of my absolute favorites and have been using religiously!

I have finally found another primer that is just as great as the Hourglass Mineral Veil! This Mattifying Primer feels absolutely amazing on the skin! I have combination skin and found that I get very oily on my t-zone, but this product has helped minimize my shine! I originally got a sample of this product, but after 2 uses, I knew I needed to go back and get the full size. You honestly don’t need a lot of product, a pea size is enough for your whole face. This product is silicone-free and closely resembles the Hourglass Mineral Veil. This product retails for $48 which is a little pricey, but it’s all natural ingredients.

This Fruit Pigmented 2nd Skin Concealer is created from fruit and contains hydrating olive squalane. Olive squalane is a light and stable version of olive oil. It is extremely hydrating and found naturally in the sebum of human skin. This product is a build-able medium to full coverage concealer that looks gorgeous on the skin. I am in the shade 3, and it matches perfectly. It covers my redness and imperfections and feels very comfortable on the skin. I recommend working fast because this product does dry a little quick. This product retails for $29 for 0.17 fl oz, but you honestly don’t need to use that much product.

This powder is hands down the best purchase I have made. The Bamboo Blur Powder is unlike any other powder on the market. I purchased the translucent powder and the powder is so fine and feels silky soft. You really don’t need that much powder for your whole face, and once you set your base, it’s incredible! It really does minimize your pores and makes your face look silky. They recently launched three new shades of this powder (light, medium, tan) but the store associates recommended I try the original one. It is retailed for $40 which is a little pricier than other powders, but I highly recommend it!

For those of you who have not tried/smelled this eye cream, I HIGHLY recommend you going to the store and getting a sample! The Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream smells absolutely delicious and helps de-puff and brighten dark circles. There was a 4 week independent study done with this eye cream, and 83% saw immediate reduction in puffiness and 73% saw immediate reduction of dark circles! The eye cream is very light and absorbs very well in the skin. This product is $26 which is very affordable compared to some other brands. You really don’t need that much product, a pea size amount is more than enough for both eyes.

Mangosteens are probably one of my favorite tropical fruits! I don’t remember the actual fruit having a scent, but the taste is so sweet and delicious! This Mangosteen Nourishing Body Cream smells amazing! The scent is light and not overpowering, but when applied, it blends very well and it doesn’t feel greasy at all. The next day when I woke up, my skin immediately felt softer! I’m the type of person who never lotions after showering, but now I look forward to using this body cream every night! This product is $20 but it is 8 fl oz. This will definitely last you for a couple months!

All these products can be purchased in-stores or online! If there isn’t a retailer near you, you can definitely order online and they offer free shipping with orders over $50! Another great thing about ordering from their website is you can purchase the items through their payment plan!

I hope you found this information helpful, and thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Sephora – Beauty Insider Appreciation Event Must Haves

Who else is excited for Sephora’s Beauty Insider Appreciation Event?! I know I’m a little late to the party, but I wanted to share some products I purchased!

Rouge | August 24th – 20% off use code: YESROUGE
VIB | August 30th – 15% off use code: YESVIB
Beauty Insider | August 30th – 10% off use code: YESINSIDER

The sale ends on September 3rd, so make sure you get everything before the sale ends! ALSO, just a little reminder that you can only use the online code ONCE! It is unlimited times in-store though. Some items are online only, so make sure you put everything in your cart before checking out!

Some top items I picked up are:

  1. The Beauty Blender – Bounce Liquid Whip Long Wear Foundation! This item is new and I have seen so many positive reviews that I wanted to try it myself! This foundation is full coverage and has a matte finish.
  2. The Nars Radiant Longwear Foundation because I have heard so many of my friends rave about this foundation. It is a full coverage foundation that gives a radiant finish. It says it is great for combination and oily skin, so this is something I’m super excited to try!
  3. The Laura Mercier – Tightline Cake Eye Liner is a powder eyeliner, but once you add some water it creates a thicker consistency. I have eyelash extensions, so this is great alternative to liquid or gel eyeliner. I had this product about two years ago and loved it! I got it in the color Black Ebony and Mahogany Brown.
  4. The Hourglass – Scattered Light Glitter Eye Shadow is so pretty! All the shades are so beautiful and they feel so buttery. I am so excited for this product because I think they’ll look great on all skin tones!
  5. I finally got the Hourglass – Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light. Not only is the packaging stunning, but the bronzer looks very flattering on! This is definitely a splurge item, but I think it’s totally worth it!
  6. I have heard so many great things about the Briogeo – Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask that I definitely want to try this for myself. I recently cut my hair, so I want to make sure that my ends stay healthy.
  7. The beloved Naked Palette is being discontinued, so I definitely wanted to pick this up! My very first Naked palette was the Naked 2, but the original Naked Palette has been everyone’s favorite. Although this product is currently out of stock on Sephora’s website, check to see if they have them in stores! Not only is it $27, but you can also get a little extra discount on it if you purchase it during the sale.
  8. We have now jumped into skincare! I believe getting skincare sets are such a great value! It’s already slightly discounted, but you get to try more products! This Belief – Aqua Playland Set is the perfect set if you want to try Belief products. It comes with a mini Moisturizing Eye Bomb and Hungarian Water Essence. This set is $38 and it is well worth it! If you just purchase The True Cream Aqua Bomb, it is already $38, so why not get the set to try two more products!
  9. I am so excited for this Tatcha – Smooth, Poreless Skin Obento Box! It comes with a mini The Deep Cleanse and The Silk Canvas! Not only is the packaging gorgeous, but the products in this kit are some of my favorites! This kit retails for $79, and it’s a steal! If you were just going to purchase The Water Cream alone, it would be $68, so you’re paying $11 more to try out two of their bestselling products.

This is definitely a lengthy post, but these Sephora sales rarely happen! Let me know what products you plan on purchasing!

AM Routine:

  • Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream
  • Paula’s Choice 10% Nicacinamide Booster
  • Belief The True Cream Aqua Bomb
  • Cōtz Tinted Sunscreen

PM Routine:

  • Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream
  • Paula’s Choice 10% Nicacinamide Booster
  • Curology
  • Belief The True Cream Aqua Bomb

Belief’s The True Cream Aqua Bomb is an ultra-lightweight moisturizer that can be used day and night. This product is an oil-free gel that instantly hydrates and cools the skin. I have combination to oily skin, and I found this moisturizer is very hydrating without being oily or adding shine. The scent is very light and the gel absorbs quickly into the skin. Awesome product for the price point! Highly recommend trying if you’re looking for a new moisturizer! Sephora is also selling the Belief Aqua Playland Set and it is only $38 for a full size moisturizer, mini eye cream, and a mini water essence!

The CōTZ sunscreen is a newer product that I recently got from Generation Beauty SF. I got a small travel size in the gift bag, and I am in LOVE! The one in the picture is tinted so it has a little color, but there are different ones you can pick up from Ulta! It blends very well into the skin leaving it silky and not greasy (It almost feels like wearing the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer)! It is a mineral sunscreen so there are no harmful chemicals. This is crucial to wear sunscreen everyday! I learned that UVA rays are always around 365 days whether it be sunny or cloudy. These are the rays that causes wrinkles. UVB rays are the ones that causes sunburns! It’s relatively inexpensive and feels amazing on the skin! You can also double it up as a primer!

Paula’s Choice 10% Niacinamide Booster serum booster that helps with uneven skin tone, and refines the appearance of pore size, skin texture, and fine lines. I apply this product before my moisturizer but after my toner. It is very light and melts right into the skin. It feels a little tacky right after you apply the product on your face, but then melts right in and feels smooth. There is no scent and great for all skin types! I use this product morning and night, and have seen my complexion improve. If you do use this during the AM, make sure to use a moisturizer with SPF 30 or more!

I have heard so many positive reviews about Curology! This is a new product that is simple and actually works! No more trips to the store trying to find new products to test out! This product is custom made to your skin concerns. All you have to do is take some pictures and fill out questions, and a dermatologist creates a cream based on your skin concerns. Super easy to use and it ships right to your door! I use this product at night, and it has helped me tremendously! I was breaking out around my hair line, cheeks, in neck, and etc. and I found this product not only cleared my acne but also helped with my acne scars! I am so impressed with this product and have been using it for months now. The one thing I don’t really like about this product is the texture and scent of the cream. It initially smells a little weird and doesn’t feel like a smooth cream, but once you apply it, it blends right in and you can’t smell the scent anymore. Another concern people may have is that one of their main ingredient is Clindamycin, which is an antibiotic. I have not found any issues with this ingredient and there are only small amounts.

Lastly, the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream is a product that was introduced to me by Influenster. Thank you so much to Influenster for sending me this complimentary eye cream! I have never been someone who uses eye cream, but recently I have been looking for an eye cream that helps with fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness. I am hitting my mid-twenties, and I believe it is better to start preventing these concerns earlier than later. This eye cream has a very light scent and thick gel consistency. I thought it would feel too tacky, but that is not the case. A little product goes a long way and it melts right into the skin. I have been using this product morning and night for the last 3 weeks and have already seen improvements! It is a little more on the pricy side, but I think you can find cheaper alternatives that also provides the same results.

At Home Teeth Whitening: Does it Work?

Smiling because of how white my teeth are! I drink a decent amount of coffee and tea, so my teeth were a bit stained. Thanks to Smile Brilliant, I can now smile confidently! To learn more about how you get pearly white teeth, keep reading! 🙂

I’ve always wanted to professionally whiten my teeth, but was always held back because of the high price tag. Smile Brilliant is a teeth whitening company that provides dentist grade whitening services. The kit is extremely easy to use, and you can whiten your teeth from the comfort of your home.

Custom fitted trays normally cost $500+ from a dentist’s office. For under $200, Smile Brilliant sent me custom trays as well as whitening gels and desensitizing gels. I was sent the T3 Sensitive System for light stains.

The whole process was simple and straightforward. As a preliminary step, I answered a few questions about my dental history, and within a week or so, I received my Smile Brilliant package. With the paste included, I made my teeth molds and sent them back to Smile Brilliant with the envelope they provided. About a week later, I received my custom whitening trays and immediately started whitening. And while the following may seem like a lot of steps, the kit provides a step by step instruction pamphlet that is super easy to follow.

Whitening Steps:

Step 1: Brush teeth WITHOUT toothpaste. This step is not crucial, but it provides the best results.
Step 2: After brushing teeth briefly, add just enough whitening gel so it only covers your teeth and not your gum.
*Each syringe can be used for 3-4 applications* You honestly don’t need to apply that much.
Step 3: Leave trays on for 45 mins – 3 hours, depending on sensitivity.
Step 4: Brush teeth WITH toothpaste and rinse trays.
Step 5: Add desensitizing gel to trays and leave on for 15-20 mins. After this process you are finished! Rinse your trays and DO NOT rinse or brush teeth after.

Whitening your teeth has never been so easy! Smile Brilliant makes it super simple to do from the comfort of your home. You can now whiten your teeth while working, watching Netflix, or just hanging out with your furbabies.

My experience with Smile Brilliant has been amazing! After just one use, I saw a difference. The very first time I used it, the trays were a little uncomfortable, like it was digging in my gums, but the more I used them, the more comfortable they became. Starting out, I whitened my teeth for about 45 minutes. I was worried about my enamel sensitivity because I have used other whitening products that made my teeth extremely sensitive, so with this product I started with the minimum recommended time. I’d say the entire process takes me less than 2 hours.

For only $149, you get the whole kit, which is a $650+ value if you were to get this done at your dentist’s office. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with Smile Brilliant, it’s super easy to use and has made my smile so much brighter without any kind of pain.

These are results from whitening after just 6 days. Even after the first use, I saw significant improvements! I’m generally very good about my dental hygiene, but I do drink the occasional coffee and or tea. This kit really helped whiten years of stains, leaving my teeth nice and shiny!

Now for something exciting, I have partnered with Smile Brilliant to give one lucky winner a teeth whitening kit of their own!

Museum of Ice Cream

After trying for months, I was finally able to snag some tickets to the Museum of Ice Cream! Your tickets arrive a few days before your visit, and although I was really worried about parking downtown, I noticed at the bottom of the email that they recommend to use a website called ParkWhiz. ParkWhiz is a website/app where you can put in your location and they will find parking in the area for you. Parking in any big metropolitan area is a nightmare, and San Francisco is no different. ParkWhiz was somehow able to give me a parking space in a hotel just blocks from the museum. I live about 1 hour away, so I made sure to give myself enough time just in case there was traffic on the way there. After arriving at the parking spot, we walked over to the museum.

When you first enter, you are put in a group of around 10. They inform you that this is the group you will be exploring the museum with. At first, I was confused, because I was under the impression that it was completely self guided, but it turned out that you were able to go at your own pace through the museum.

Each room has a different (but still ice cream) theme, with some offering tasty treats and others offering souvenirs. The entire museum is beautifully put together, with a vintage ice cream parlor, many art installations, and even a sprinkle pool. I can really see why this is the most popular of the interactive, walk-through art installations, because the vibe is so well curated. I’ve visited both Happy Place (LA) and Color Factory (SF), and I think in terms of content, MOIC is the most interactive. However, I think I had the most fun at Happy Place. I felt like in LA, people who attend this sort of thing are more open to taking your time and enjoying, or waiting patiently until you get the perfect shot.

One of my favorite parts was the unicorn (milk) ice cream. It was so creamy and smooth, really reminded me of my favorite place in LA. And isn’t that what ice cream’s all about? Nostalgia?

Other pictures from MOIC!

Loved this room! It is themed like a diner and it even has a vintage jukebox, filled with ice cream music puns. They were serving this cherry sorbet that was actually really good. I loved the vibe and the cute pink phone!

Enjoying some freshly spun cherry cotton candy under some clouds and cherries! This room was really fun to take pictures in. They had a big cherry sculpture that everyone likes to take pictures with, and cherries and clouds hanging all over.

This room really brought me back to elementary school. It’s a rock climbing room, in which each wall is filled with climbing rocks. You’re able to climb all over the room! Although it was just for taking pictures, I felt like I got a pretty good workout.

The sprinkle pool was super cute and fun to play in. One downside of this place is that they let about 10 people in the pool at once. It’s really not big enough to fit that many people. You’re struggling to find a way to take pictures and when you finally find enough space, you have to leave to make room for the next group. It’s shocking to me how many people are able to post pictures of themselves in here – We actually really struggled getting a shot with just me! I guess your mileage may vary.

Linda Tawil & Jaclyn Hill

Can we just talk about the time I met Linda Tawil and Jaclyn Hill?! Back in November 2017, Linda and Jaclyn came to Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara, CA to visit the Morphe store before the grand opening. I was absolutely starstruck. I had met Jaclyn earlier that month at her Meet and Greet at the Ulta Beauty in West Covina, CA. I drove six hours down and camped out overnight, because I knew I wouldn’t meet her if I didn’t. I waited over 12 hours to ensure a spot to meet her, and it was worth it! It was my first time camping out, and it was an unforgettable experience. When I saw that she was less than 15 mins away from where I live, I had to meet her again. Linda and Jaclyn are so sweet and care so much about their supporters, that they came out of the Morphe store to greet us before having to leave for the airport. This was such an amazing opportunity, and I’m so happy I was able to meet both of them again because they are truly an inspiration. They are such hard working and passionate role models, especially within the beauty industry. Their success shows that you really can achieve you put your mind to!

This palette is very pretty and has a good mixture of matte and shimmer shadows. It is extremely pigmented and has a little bit of fall out. Love the colors that are included because you can do a very neutral every day eye.

Sephora Rewards Bazaar

Exciting news for Sephora Beauty Insiders! You can start earning extra points on every purchase from now until 8/19! Start racking up those points because it looks like there are some amazing rewards coming soon! Don’t forget, you can shop either online or in-store!

Check the Rewards Bazaar every Tuesday and Thursday because that is when Sephora adds new rewards.

This is a great way to try products as well as stock up on travel size favorites. I decided to to redeem some of my points and get:

I am a big fan of Anastasia Beverly Hills, so of course I decided to get two clear brow gels. Once applied to the brows, it lasts until the end of the day when you take off your makeup!

I also picked up the Tatcha, Water Cream. The packaging is so adorable and I heard many good things about this moisturizer so I thought it would be a good time to test it out without!

The last reward I got was the Sunday Riley, U.F.O (Ultra-Clarifying Face Oil) because it says it helps clear congested pores, treat and prevent acne, and smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. I have used other Sunday Riley products and I have seen amazing results! My skin has been a little crazy with break outs, so I’m hoping this product will balance it back out!

Generation Beauty San Francisco

This year was my first time attending Generation Beauty. If you don’t know what Generation Beauty is, it is an event held by Ipsy where a lot of different brands have stalls where people are able to visit and learn about their products and purchase at a discounted price. The Ipsy teams decides which locations Gen Beauty is held, so it may be different each year.

It was such an amazing experience being able to attend the event. Not only do brands come out, but they also set up Meet & Greets for YouTubers! I am lucky to be a content creator for IpsyOS, so I was also invited to attend the cocktail party the night before. It was my first cocktail party ever and this is a social event for bloggers to get to know each other. Definitely a great way to mingle with each other since there were bloggers from all over! Not to mention you could potentially meet Michelle Phan (the creator) or one of the invited YouTubers.

Some tips for attending Gen Beauty in the future:

  • Going from vendor to vendor can be very stressful especially since the lines are long! I found that it can be extremely overwhelming, so make sure you take breaks! DON’T FORGET TO EAT!
  • You don’t have to visit every vendor on the first day! The brands are also there the second day!
  • Early Access is WORTH IT! If you have the option to add Early Access, DO IT! I purchased early access, and on the first day of the event, the line was CRAZY just to get in! Early access is when you get to go in 1 hour before everyone else and get to meet the brands first!
  • If you can register the day before, you should do that. The day of the event, the registration had an extremely long line, and people would go in to register and have to come back out because they didn’t have early access.
  • Bring snacks and water! You’ll be walking around a lot and may not have time or even want to go out to get food and water. I remember wanting to go to every brand, but I had to pull myself away because I was extremely hungry.
  • Wear comfortable shoes! You’ll be walking around and standing in line a lot!

These are just some tips that I thought would be useful! If you have any more, please comment below and share them with me! 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

Bumble & Bumble – Hairdresser’s Invisible Oil

I don’t have many products from Bumble & Bumble, so I was very excited that Influenster sent me this complimentary box. I was actually really surprised with how much I ended up liking this product. At first it is a little weird because it is a low-foam cleanser. I wasn’t used to using a low-foaming cleanser, so I didn’t know if it would really clean my hair that well. When I rinsed out the product it didn’t strip my hair and actually made it feel a lot softer and smoother! Not to mention this product smells AMAZING! I’m really loving this and will probably purchase once I run out! Thank you Influenster and Bumble & Bumble for sending me this and allowing me to test it!

E.L.F. Cosmetics

Went out to my local Target and picked up some E.L.F. products. I wanted to do a full face using only E.L.F. products because I have never done this before. I was extremely excited to try everything because I have not used E.L.F. products in a long time. The items I picked up were:
The Day to Night Lipstick Duo (I Love Pinks)
Aqua-Infused Blush & Bronzer (Bronzed Pink Beige)
Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette (Fresh & Flawless)
Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Ardell Faux Mink Falsies (Style 810)
Beautifully Bare Sheer Tint Finishing Powder (Light/Medium)
Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum (Light/Medium)
Tone Adjusting Face Primer (Brightening Lavender)

Some swatches of the eyeshadows from the Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette. From the picture, you can see that some of the shades aren’t very pigmented. When I was trying to swatch the colors, I could feel that the eye shadows feel pretty chalky.

Liked: From all the products that I purchased, these three were my top favorites. I really liked the primer because it reminded me of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. It’s extremely soft and feels very light on the skin. You honestly don’t need to apply a lot on the face because a little goes a long way!

The other product that I really like was the foundation serum. It kind of reminds me of the Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum. This foundation is extremely watery and the coverage is light to medium coverage. It also has SPF 30, so it’ll help with the sun. If you’re looking for full coverage foundation, this is not the one. This foundation serum feels extremely lightweight on the skin and doesn’t feel too sticky on the face. A very good lightweight foundation for summer!

The final product that I really liked was the Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette in Fresh & Flawless. This face palette is pretty and very inexpensive. Just like the eyeshadow palette, it’s not extremely pigmented, but you can build on it. The two blush shades are a very nice and subtle coral shade, and the bronzer color is a nice matte light brown. And lastly, the highlighter is what stood out for me. This highlighter is extremely pretty and gives an amazing glow to the cheeks.

Did not picture: Beautifully Bare Sheer Tint Finishing Powder (Light/Medium) is a very nice lightweight powder. It feels extremely smooth on the skin and gives a very nice lightweight coverage. I do like this powder, but I think I would grab a NYX powder instead.

Did not like: As for the rest of the products that I did not mention above, I ended up not really enjoying them. The Day to Night Lipstick Duo (I Love Pinks) looked like something I would really like based on the packaging, but when I opened it up the colors were completely different. They seemed a lot brighter and more neon than I had hoped. Not exactly something I normally go for.

For the Aqua-Infused Blush & Bronzer (Bronzed Pink Beige), I did not expect this item to be a cream bronzer and blush. I should have known based off the name being ‘Aqua-Infused,’ but I thought it meant it would be more hydrating. Anyways, I am not used to using cream blushes or bronzers, so this product felt a little odd for me and it just didn’t work out.

I have heard so many great things about the Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette and I decided to give it a try. It’s only $10 which is extremely affordable if you compare it to other eyeshadow palettes, but this was not for me. The shades aren’t very pigmented and the feel of the eyeshadows feel a little too chalky for my liking.

The last item that I did not like was the Ardell Faux Mink Falsies (Style 810). I really wanted to like these falsies, but they were just not the right style for me. They’re extremely soft and lightweight, but the style that I have are not flattering for my eyes. Looking at them from the packaging, the lashes look like they are plastic. Hopefully there are other styles and I will most likely give the other styles a try, it’s just the Ardell 810 were not the right ones for me.

***From the products I mentioned above, I just wanted to say that even though they did not work out for me doesn’t mean they won’t work for you! I recommend trying the products because you’ll never know if you’re going to love them or not!***
