CoolSculpting Experience

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to partner with Ariba Med Spa located in Fremont, CA. I am so excited to share my CoolSculpting experience with all of you!

I have heard a lot of positive feedback from people who have gotten this procedure and I’ve been really interested in trying it for myself. I did a lot of research beforehand to make sure I understood the process & any risk that may be involved. For those of you unaware of what CoolSculpting is, it is a non-invasive procedure used to eliminate unwanted fat in targeted areas like the abdomen, love handles, thighs and chin, etc.

I was both nervous and excited for the procedure because it’s a way to freeze away fat cells, ensuring they won’t return! It’s extremely targeted, so if you have ‘problem areas,’ you can address them directly. The area I decided to get done was my inner thighs. I have always been self conscious of my legs, and I’m honestly really excited to see the results. Keep in mind that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss procedure, it is to help tone the area and prevent fat cells from coming back, and you generally see the results a few weeks to months after.

When I arrived, I was instantly greeted by their friendly staff and taken to their CoolSculpting room where I showed the esthetician the problem area I wanted to work on. Lilliana, the esthetician who was doing my procedure was amazing! She answered all my questions and concerns and walked me through the entire process. It was also reassuring to hear about her own successful experiences with sculpting.

The procedure is essentially as follows: The technician works with you to understand which area you’d like to be CoolSculpted. They are precise with measurements, drawing lines to map out exactly what to work on. This consultation also determines the price & length of the procedure, as well as which cooling paddle they’ll use. After that, the technician preps the area with a sterilizing wipe, a cream, a gel, and a thin protective sheet before placing the paddle (which is a strong suction) on the area. They then turn on the freezing function, which runs for half an hour. After this, the technician inspects the area before applying another cream and massaging it, which helps breaks down the fat cells. You then stand on a machine (pictured below) that vibrates your body for about 10 minutes, which further breaks down the cells.

The whole procedure took about 2 hours. I think the measurement/mapping took the longest because we wanted to be very precise in eliminating what needs to be eliminated. Everything after went by extremely fast. The freezing portion only takes 35 minutes, and after it was removed, she massaged the area for around 30 minutes. When you first apply the paddle (at sub zero temperature), there’s a slight discomfort, but that goes away after 5 minutes. I really only felt a light stinging sensation after the paddle was removed. I heard a lot of people say the pain came from the massaging, but I felt little to no irritation.

As someone who has been considering CoolSculpting for quite some time, I can genuinely attest to the fact that it isn’t so bad! It’s a great way to freeze away fat cells, and Ariba made the experience smooth & comforting. Safe to say I’ll be back again to work on my other problem areas! Major thanks again to Ariba Med Spa for partnering with me.
