Favorite 100% Pure Products

Lately I have been trying to take more of a healthier approach when it comes to what makeup products I use. I wear makeup every day and sometimes the ingredients in some beloved products aren’t the healthiest. You may have heard of 100% Pure, this brand was created locally in the San Francisco Bay Area in 2005. They have grown tremendously with over 200+ employees and 12 retail stores throughout the US.

In recent years, we have become more health conscious with the type of produce we purchase. Making sure we are eating organic products because it is a healthier option. Just like the food we are consuming, I think it’s also important to know what ingredients make up our favorite foundation, concealer, etc. As an avid makeup enthusiast, I am wearing makeup every single day, and I think it’s important to understand what goes into the products. I have been transitioning to cruelty-free and more natural products, and 100% Pure is a great place to start. I’m not telling you to throw away all your old makeup, but I urge you to try different brands and products when you are in need of replenishment.

I will be sharing some products that I have recently purchased from 100% Pure! These have quickly grown to be some of my absolute favorites and have been using religiously!

I have finally found another primer that is just as great as the Hourglass Mineral Veil! This Mattifying Primer feels absolutely amazing on the skin! I have combination skin and found that I get very oily on my t-zone, but this product has helped minimize my shine! I originally got a sample of this product, but after 2 uses, I knew I needed to go back and get the full size. You honestly don’t need a lot of product, a pea size is enough for your whole face. This product is silicone-free and closely resembles the Hourglass Mineral Veil. This product retails for $48 which is a little pricey, but it’s all natural ingredients.

This Fruit Pigmented 2nd Skin Concealer is created from fruit and contains hydrating olive squalane. Olive squalane is a light and stable version of olive oil. It is extremely hydrating and found naturally in the sebum of human skin. This product is a build-able medium to full coverage concealer that looks gorgeous on the skin. I am in the shade 3, and it matches perfectly. It covers my redness and imperfections and feels very comfortable on the skin. I recommend working fast because this product does dry a little quick. This product retails for $29 for 0.17 fl oz, but you honestly don’t need to use that much product.

This powder is hands down the best purchase I have made. The Bamboo Blur Powder is unlike any other powder on the market. I purchased the translucent powder and the powder is so fine and feels silky soft. You really don’t need that much powder for your whole face, and once you set your base, it’s incredible! It really does minimize your pores and makes your face look silky. They recently launched three new shades of this powder (light, medium, tan) but the store associates recommended I try the original one. It is retailed for $40 which is a little pricier than other powders, but I highly recommend it!

For those of you who have not tried/smelled this eye cream, I HIGHLY recommend you going to the store and getting a sample! The Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream smells absolutely delicious and helps de-puff and brighten dark circles. There was a 4 week independent study done with this eye cream, and 83% saw immediate reduction in puffiness and 73% saw immediate reduction of dark circles! The eye cream is very light and absorbs very well in the skin. This product is $26 which is very affordable compared to some other brands. You really don’t need that much product, a pea size amount is more than enough for both eyes.

Mangosteens are probably one of my favorite tropical fruits! I don’t remember the actual fruit having a scent, but the taste is so sweet and delicious! This Mangosteen Nourishing Body Cream smells amazing! The scent is light and not overpowering, but when applied, it blends very well and it doesn’t feel greasy at all. The next day when I woke up, my skin immediately felt softer! I’m the type of person who never lotions after showering, but now I look forward to using this body cream every night! This product is $20 but it is 8 fl oz. This will definitely last you for a couple months!

All these products can be purchased in-stores or online! If there isn’t a retailer near you, you can definitely order online and they offer free shipping with orders over $50! Another great thing about ordering from their website is you can purchase the items through their payment plan!

I hope you found this information helpful, and thanks for stopping by! 🙂

E.L.F. Cosmetics

Went out to my local Target and picked up some E.L.F. products. I wanted to do a full face using only E.L.F. products because I have never done this before. I was extremely excited to try everything because I have not used E.L.F. products in a long time. The items I picked up were:
The Day to Night Lipstick Duo (I Love Pinks)
Aqua-Infused Blush & Bronzer (Bronzed Pink Beige)
Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette (Fresh & Flawless)
Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette
Ardell Faux Mink Falsies (Style 810)
Beautifully Bare Sheer Tint Finishing Powder (Light/Medium)
Beautifully Bare Foundation Serum (Light/Medium)
Tone Adjusting Face Primer (Brightening Lavender)

Some swatches of the eyeshadows from the Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette. From the picture, you can see that some of the shades aren’t very pigmented. When I was trying to swatch the colors, I could feel that the eye shadows feel pretty chalky.

Liked: From all the products that I purchased, these three were my top favorites. I really liked the primer because it reminded me of the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. It’s extremely soft and feels very light on the skin. You honestly don’t need to apply a lot on the face because a little goes a long way!

The other product that I really like was the foundation serum. It kind of reminds me of the Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum. This foundation is extremely watery and the coverage is light to medium coverage. It also has SPF 30, so it’ll help with the sun. If you’re looking for full coverage foundation, this is not the one. This foundation serum feels extremely lightweight on the skin and doesn’t feel too sticky on the face. A very good lightweight foundation for summer!

The final product that I really liked was the Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette in Fresh & Flawless. This face palette is pretty and very inexpensive. Just like the eyeshadow palette, it’s not extremely pigmented, but you can build on it. The two blush shades are a very nice and subtle coral shade, and the bronzer color is a nice matte light brown. And lastly, the highlighter is what stood out for me. This highlighter is extremely pretty and gives an amazing glow to the cheeks.

Did not picture: Beautifully Bare Sheer Tint Finishing Powder (Light/Medium) is a very nice lightweight powder. It feels extremely smooth on the skin and gives a very nice lightweight coverage. I do like this powder, but I think I would grab a NYX powder instead.

Did not like: As for the rest of the products that I did not mention above, I ended up not really enjoying them. The Day to Night Lipstick Duo (I Love Pinks) looked like something I would really like based on the packaging, but when I opened it up the colors were completely different. They seemed a lot brighter and more neon than I had hoped. Not exactly something I normally go for.

For the Aqua-Infused Blush & Bronzer (Bronzed Pink Beige), I did not expect this item to be a cream bronzer and blush. I should have known based off the name being ‘Aqua-Infused,’ but I thought it meant it would be more hydrating. Anyways, I am not used to using cream blushes or bronzers, so this product felt a little odd for me and it just didn’t work out.

I have heard so many great things about the Mad for Matte Eyeshadow Palette and I decided to give it a try. It’s only $10 which is extremely affordable if you compare it to other eyeshadow palettes, but this was not for me. The shades aren’t very pigmented and the feel of the eyeshadows feel a little too chalky for my liking.

The last item that I did not like was the Ardell Faux Mink Falsies (Style 810). I really wanted to like these falsies, but they were just not the right style for me. They’re extremely soft and lightweight, but the style that I have are not flattering for my eyes. Looking at them from the packaging, the lashes look like they are plastic. Hopefully there are other styles and I will most likely give the other styles a try, it’s just the Ardell 810 were not the right ones for me.

***From the products I mentioned above, I just wanted to say that even though they did not work out for me doesn’t mean they won’t work for you! I recommend trying the products because you’ll never know if you’re going to love them or not!***
